Faculty of Dentistry Universitas Brawijaya (FKG UB) Held the Signing of the Inscription and Laying of the First Stone for the Construction of FKG Building Universitas Brawijaya on Friday (10/06/2022). The activity, which was held at the Faculty of Dentistry, was attended by the Rector and all staff, the Dean of FKG and his staff, the Director of RSUB, as well as the Head of the Department of Dentistry and his staff.
Dean of FKG, Dr. drg. Nur Permatasari, MS said that currently FKG Dentistry Study Program has received “A” Accreditation, so it has the opportunity to accept new students with a quota of 150-200 students. The building which was previously only one floor was inadequate in terms of facilities for teaching and learning activities so that the construction of FKG building is expected to fulfill the facilities and educational capacity of dentists in the undergraduate study program of dentistry and the dental profession.
He said that in the future FKG also plans to work together with Vocational Schools to open a dental therapist study program as a fulfillment of high needs in the community. In addition, FKG also wants the opportunity to open master degree in dentistry that excels in the field of nanotechnology.
“Currently, we plan to collaborate with the Vocational Faculty to prepare the Dental Therapist Study Program and the Dentistry Master Study Program in the field of Nanotechnology,” said drg Nur.
In her speech, UB Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Nuhfil Hanani, AR., M.S hopes that with the construction of this new building, hopefully FKG can grow and develop.
Growing means increasing the number of students, growing means increasing their study programs so that they can compete globally.
