The Cooperation Agreement Signing between STIPER and FILKOM UB

On December 18, 2020, the Faculty of Computer Science Universitas Brawijaya (FILKOM UB) again signed a collaboration on the implementation of the university’s independent curriculum. The collaboration signed with the East Kutai Agricultural College (STIPER), Sangatta, East Kalimantan. The event was attended by the leaders of FILKOM, representatives of East Kutai Regional Government and the leaders of STIPER. The event took place in the hall of G Building FILKOM UB by keep implementing the health protocol.
The event was opened with a speech delivered by Wayan Firdaus Mahmudy, S.Si., M.T., Ph.D. as the Dean of FILKOM. He expressed his gratitude for the arrival of representatives of STIPER and the East Kutai Regional Government. The hope is that in the future there will be more collaborations that can be established to improve the quality and accreditation of both parties.
“For this collaboration, how will we match it. Now, the trend is there is a decision support system agriculture. How does IT applied in agriculture? we could later organize a class for that and if necessary, we will work together with STIPER agriculture lecturers so they can provide broader insights to students. For example, this is a future agriculture supposed to be or then what kind of application of geographic information system is. Then it could be the other activities. Maybe a conference or seminar together. Every year we organize scientific seminars. if it is possible, there is a joint implementation could be conducted someday, or STIPER holds a conference, we can be invited as resource persons. So, the point is we are very open to this collaboration, “said Wayan.
Then a speech was also delivered by the East Kutai Regional Secretary as well as STIPER supervisor, Drs. H. Irawansyah, M.Si. and also Prof. Dr. Ir. Juraemi M.Si. as Chairman of STIPER. Drs. Irawansyah expressed his appreciation for this collaboration. It is hoped that this collaboration in the future will bring East Kutai to a better place, especially in terms of improving the quality of human resources.
“This is very important for East Kutai, because in the not too distant future many large companies will enter East Kutai. It will take a tremendous amount of employee. Of course, later on STIPER with this collaboration we aim to be able to improve students’ computer skills. Do not let many outsiders enter our area. Therefore, we must prepare these human resources, so that STIPER graduate students can work in companies in our area, I think, “said Drs. Irawansyah.
