The Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya (FILKOM UB) has begun the Dean Election (Pildek) process for the 2025-2030 period. This process began with the appointment of the chairman and secretary in the Plenary Meeting of the Faculty Academic Senate (SAF) FILKOM UB on Thursday (20/2/2025). The activity was continued with the formation of a committee and holding an initial coordination meeting which was held on Thursday (27/2/2025) in building F, FILKOM UB. The coordination meeting was led by Ir. Edy Santoso, S.Si., M.Kom., as the chairman of FILKOM UB Dean Election. On this occasion, Edy conveyed the importance of coordination so that activities can be carried out properly since this activity was carried out for the first time since FILKOM was established in 2016.
“The Recruitment Process for Prospective Dean Candidates at FILKOM experienced dynamics related to the Dean’s term of office from 4 years to 5 years in accordance with the Organizational Structure and Work Procedures (SOTK) of UB after becoming a Legal Entity State University (PTN-BH), so that the implementation can be carried out simultaneously by 12 Faculties in UB. Registration for prospective dean candidates is open for a week (5/3/2025-11/4/2025), providing an opportunity for lecturers in FILKOM who meet the requirements to register and from April 14, 2025 to April 16, 2025 to be offered other faculties if after the extension period the prospective candidates are less than 2,” explained Edy.
The process of selecting prospective dean candidates of FILKOM UB goes through several important stages, namely, registration (5/3/2025-16/4/2025), verification of administrative files on (17/4-18/4/2025), submission of files to SAF on (19/4/2025), and ratification of prospective candidates by SAF on (24/4/2025), the announcement of prospective candidates will be made on (25/4/2025), and open dialogue with Prospective Dean Candidates (30/4/2025), voting on (6/5/2025), and the results will be submitted to SAF on (6/5/2025). The next process will be a SAF Plenary Meeting on (15/5/2025) while sending the results to UB Rector by SAF. The entire process of Recruitment of Prospective Dean Candidates and determination of FILKOM Dean Candidates for the 2025-2030 period involves active participation from lecturers and education personnel at FILKOM to ensure that the election of new deans is carried out democratically and fairly so that the right leader can be obtained to lead the faculty in the coming period and improve academic quality and institutional development.
