Six study programs at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Universitas Brawijaya (FPIK UB) received an Accreditation Visit from the international agency Agentur zur Qualitätssicherung an Hochschulen mit Sitz in Köln (AQAS). The opening of the International Accreditation was carried out with university management on the 8th floor of the Rectorate building, Tuesday (7/5/2022). This activity aims to improve the quality of UB as an international standard university.
UB Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nuhfil Hanani, A.R., M.S., explained that AQAS is an international accreditation agency headquartered in Germany.
“UB has a vision to become superior university with international standards. Therefore, as long as I am on duty, UB has a target that all study programs must be internationally accredited,” he said.
The former Dean of FP said that until February 2022 there had been 106 study programs visited by international accreditation agencies.
The Expert of UB Food Security also said that International Accreditation is very important, especially for the quality of a university.
“During my time as rector, more than 50 percent of the total study programs in UB have been visited by international accreditation agencies. We strive to pursue all study programs in UB get international accreditation, “he said.
Meanwhile, six study programs at FPIK were visited by AQAS, namely Fisheries Agribusiness Undergraduate Study Program, Marine Science Undergraduate Study Program, Fishery Resource Utilization Study Undergraduate Study Program, Aquatic Resource Management Study Program Undergraduate Study Program, Fishery Products Technology Study Program, and Aquaculture Master Program.
Head of the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM) Dr. Shinta Hadiyantina, S.H., M.H., said that in addition to online visits, the AQAS team also conducts offline visits to FPIK UB building in early August.
“The AQAS team will look at the facilities in FPIK building,” she said.
In addition to FPIK Building, the AQAS Team will also make a visit to the Faculty of Computer Science or Filkom in August. (OKY/Humas UB/ Trans. Iir).
