FISIP-FIB Berbakti Desa Universitas Brawijaya (FBD UB) Group 20 carried out a pedagogical field trip at SMPN 04 Satu Atap Ampelgading.
On this occasion, they invited junior high school students to discuss the culture in Argoyuwono. The students then wrote the results of the discussion in the form of essays accompanied by supporting pictures. Several students had the opportunity to read their essays in front of the class, increasing enthusiasm in understanding and appreciating local culture.
The results of these essays were then uploaded to the Instagram social media @jantra_ub_20_argoyuwono as an effort to further publicize their work.
Field supervisor of group 20, Dhanny Sutopo said that the cultural essays were made better and then made into a book of essays.
“So it’s not just giving 1st, 2nd, 3rd place to students but if it is published in a book, the output will be more visible and also increase literacy and reading interest among the community,” he said.
KKN Group 20 then implemented the suggestion well and within one week managed to compile a book entitled “Senarai Aksara Argoyuwono.”
The launch of the book “Senarai Aksara Argoyuwono” was carried out at the Mahakarya Argoyuwono event. This event was a collaboration with KKN Group 19 FBD UB and also became the closing night and farewell to the residents of Argoyuwono Village.
Taking place at the Argoyuwono Village Hall, the event was attended by various village officials, including the Head of Purnomo Village, the Head of Hamlet, and RT and RW from Argosari, Argosuko, and Argomulyo Hamlets. The presence of enthusiastic villagers also enlivened the night.
“We present the book Senarai Aksara Argoyuwono. This book is a collection of works, both written and illustrated, from students of SMPN 04 Satu Atap Argoyuwono. This book is also a form of collaboration between groups 19 and 20 to realize cultural literacy in the younger generation. We hope that with this book, friends, especially the younger generation, are motivated to read books and create their own written works and preserve the culture around them,” said Gerhard as the Village Coordinator of KKN Group 20 FBD Jantra.
Argoyuwono’s masterpiece was also enlivened by various art performances from local students, such as drama from SDN 01 Satu Atap, dance and drama from SMPN 04 Satu Atap Ampelgading. In addition, KKN groups 19 and 20 FBD Jantra also presented flash mob performances and various other performances.
This event was not only an event for the book launch, but also a moment of togetherness and appreciation for the cultural richness of Argoyuwono Village. This activity is expected to provide a sustainable positive impact for the villagers, especially in terms of preserving culture, increasing literacy, and as a forum for introducing local culture to the younger generation.
