Rector of Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Prof.Dr.Ir. Nuhfil Hanani AR, MS carried out the procession of laying the first stone for the construction of the lecture III building and the construction of a mosque in UB Kediri (Thursday, 12/5/2022). The process of laying the first stone was followed by the signing of the inscription by the Rector witnessed by the Mayor of Kediri, Abdullah Abu Bakar, S.E, and the director of PSDKU UB Kediri, Prof. Dr. Ir. Darsono Wisadirana, MS.
In his speech, UB Rector, Prof.Dr.Ir. Nuhfil Hanani AR, MS said that the development of UB Kediri must follow developments quickly.
“UB on Jalan Veteran Malang is full. So that our development is moving places, one of the first priorities is in UB Kediri, the second is in UB Dieng, and the third is in UB Jakarta. Currently, UB Kediri has just held a study program in agricultural sciences. So that in the future we will prepare any study program. We will no longer run but fly, because our competition is extraordinary right now,” said Nuhfil.
The mayor of Kediri, Abdullah Abu Bakar, said that the acceleration of development carried out by UB will have a positive impact on education in Kediri City.
“I am also grateful because UB Kediri is developing so fast. This is in line with Kediri City which is doing repositioning, one of which is education,” said Abdullah Abu Bakar.
Lecture III Building of PSDKU UB Kediri was built on the third floor on a building site of 1200m2 with a building area of 3600m2.
Meanwhile, the Al Qarawiyyin mosque will be built with an area of 750m2 which is estimated to accommodate 700 congregations.
In addition to starting the construction of lecture buildings and mosque, the Rector also inaugurated the campus ring road which has been completed and is ready to be used by campus residents. The ring road which has been built since 2021 is 800m long.
The event was also attended by the chairman of Kediri District Court, the chairman of Kediri City DPRD, Dandim, Kediri Police Chief, and the chairman of IKA Kediri. (Humas UB/ Trans. Iir)
