Students who involved in Community Service (PKM) Group 8 of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya have conducted branding and digital marketing training for MSME actors in Sumberkerto Hamlet on Wednesday (10/07). This training aims to overcome the main obstacles faced by business actors, especially in terms of brand development and marketing their products.
Previously, observations related to MSMEs in Sumberkerto Hamlet were conducted from 25 to 28 June 2024. The results of the observation showed that MSMEs in Sumberkerto Hamlet offer a variety of products, ranging from food such as steamed buns, donuts, and cookies, to non-food items such as mountain sandals, knitted bags, and parcels. Although many products have been registered with the Business Identification Number and are halal certified, MSME actors face challenges in creating and maintaining brands due to the costs that must be incurred every six months.
As a solution, PKM Group 8 FH UB held training that included assistance in creating brands and product stickers. This training teaches important elements in packaging stickers, such as name, contact, copywriting, and visual design. The goal is to help MSMEs build a strong identity and visuals that are attractive to consumers.
In addition, digital marketing training was also carried out with a focus on the use of Facebook Marketplace. Many MSME actors in Sumberkerto Hamlet are already familiar with Facebook, so this platform was chosen to make it easier for them to access a wider market. This training is expected to help MSMEs increase sales and expand their market reach.
BUMDes Plaosan is also expected to be more active in supporting the promotion of MSME products in Sumberkerto Hamlet, both through exhibition events, social media, and other digital platforms. With this support, MSMEs in Dusun Sumberkerto are expected to develop sustainably, contribute to the local economy, and improve the welfare of the surrounding community. (dzilla/wdd/UB PR/ Trans.
