Opening ceremony of Student Art Week (Pekan Seni Mahasiswa/Peksima) 2016 University of Brawijaya (UB) is again to be organized, Monday (21/Mar/2016). The event becomes student’s reference in performing talent and ability in the arts is an initial selection series in regional event named Regional Student Art Week (Pekan Seni Mahasiswa Daerah/Peksimida) up to National Student Art Week (Pekan Seni Mahasiswa Nasional/Peksiminas) XIII would be organized in 20-26 September in Kendari, South East Sulawesi. The event was officially opened by Vice rector III, Prof. Dr. Ir. Arif Prajitno, MS in front of principal board, judges committee and participants.
In his remarks, Vice Rector III expected that the event could stimulate student’s talent to become achievements that could be realized in national level. “UB is ready to give support and guidance to the all students who participate in the event up to national level. Our expectation, students are not only bringing East Java reputation, but also alma mater,” he said.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Eko Widodo as Committee Head of Peksima UB 2016 presented, the event is followed by 549 students originated from all faculties and study programs. There were also around 14 stalk races including: poem writing, short story writing, plays writing, monolog, vocal group, strip comic, kroncong, dangdut, seriosa, pop, poems, poster design, painting and photography. All the stalk races invited competent judge panel and having capability in each competition field. Thus, although still in selection stages in university level, all the participants who joined in the competition is expected able to do the task seriously. “Give the best ability and understand thoroughly each regulation given in technical meeting in the first day.
