FLOICE Choir, from FTP Brawijaya University won three championship titles at “Busan Choral Festival & Competition 2023” which was held in Busan, South Korea (17-21/10/2023). In the BCFC competition, UB team won 2nd prize in the Pop and Acapella Category; Gold diploma Pop and Acappella Category; and Gold diploma Ethnic Category.
When confirmed by UB Public Relations, Dr. Setiawan Noerdajasakti, SH., MH as Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Alumni at UB said he was proud of the brilliant achievements achieved by FLOICE in Busan. “I really appreciate and am proud of the achievements achieved by the FLOICE team in Busan. This achievement certainly makes UB’s name famous internationally. Thank you for the team’s tireless hard work,” he said.
Meanwhile, the head of FLOICE group, Floice Jiyan Nafis Dewantara, expressed her joy and pride in her team’s achievements. “The process, which was very long and took months, finally produced results as expected. Thank you very much for all your help so that we can achieve this achievement,” said Floice
The FLOICE FTP UB team led by Rifa Luthfiyyah Khairunnisa (TIP 2020) brought 33 singers and 2 officials. The conductor was Agustinus Wahyu Permadi and pianist Dinar Primasti.
In its performance, FLOICE managed to amaze the jury and beat 35 teams from Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia and South Korea. Finally, the jury team awarded FLOICE with 3 medals, namely 2nd Prize Pop and Acappella Category, Gold Diploma Pop and Acappella Category, and Gold Diploma Ethnic Category.
The song that FLOICE performed in the international choir competition was Greedy arr. Primasti Dinar; I Have Nothing arr. Dinar Primasti, and Stevie Wonder The Medley arr. Dinar Primasti in the pop and acappella category.
Meanwhile, for the ethnic/traditional category, FLOICE performed the song Bungong Jeumpa arr. Budi Susanto Yohanes; Gayatri arr. Bagus S. Utomo, and Luk Luk Lumbu arr. Budi Susanto Yohanes. (UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
