FH Holds Opening Ceremony of Global Islamic Mobility Student Outreach with GISO USIM Malaysia

The Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya (FH UB) held an Opening Ceremony for the Global Islamic Mobility Student Outreach (GISO) 2024 in collaboration with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). This event took place lively in the auditorium on the 6th floor of A Building, FH UB.

This event was attended by students, lecturers, and invited guests from both universities. GISO is a student exchange program that aims to increase international insight and experience in the field of Islamic law.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya, Dr. Aan Eko Widiarto, S.H., M.Hum., in his speech expressed his hopes for this collaboration.

“We are very proud and excited to welcome our colleagues from USIM Malaysia. This collaboration is an important step in an effort to expand the academic network and improve the quality of Islamic law education at both universities,” said Dr. Aan.

He added his hope for all students to make the most of this opportunity.

“I hope that students can take advantage of this opportunity to exchange ideas, experiences, and enrich their understanding of Islamic law in a global context. Hopefully this activity will be the beginning of more intensive and beneficial collaborations in the future,” he added.

During the event, participants were treated to cultural dances from Indonesia, which further strengthened the relationship between students and lecturers. In addition, presentations were also given regarding the programs and activities that will be carried out during this exchange period.

The GISO program is scheduled to take place from (4/8-11/8/2024), where students from both universities will take part in a series of academic activities, seminars, workshops, and visits to various legal institutions and government agencies.

With a program like GISO, it is hoped that it will be able to produce a young generation who are not only competent in the field of law, but also have a broad understanding of various cultures and legal systems in other countries. (Rma/FH PRUB PR/ Trans. Iir)
