MMD Socializes the Importance of Intellectual Property Rights

On Tuesday (15/7), the Student Build Village Team (MMD) Group 1 of Bocek Village, Universitas Brawijaya (UB) conducted a socialization regarding the importance of intellectual property rights (HAKI) in Bocek Village, Karangploso District, Malang Regency. This socialization aims to provide a deeper understanding to MSME actors about the importance of protecting their innovations and creations through registration of Intellectual Property Rights (HAKI). In the socialization, the procedures and benefits of HAKI registration were also explained.

“HAKI registration can provide legal protection for innovations and creations, prevent plagiarism, and increase the added value of products in the market. By registering HAKI, agricultural products from Bocek Village will have higher competitiveness in the national and international markets,” said Imelda.

This activity was enthusiastically welcomed by the participants of the socialization, the majority of whom were MSME farmers. They are very committed to immediately registering HAKI for their products. One of the participants, Siska, who is an MSME actor, stated that she was very grateful for the knowledge provided. This is very useful for her to protect the products and innovations that we have made.”

This activity is part of the MMD UB Group’s commitment to continue supporting village community empowerment through legal education and increasing the capacity of MSME actors. With the implementation of this socialization, it is hoped that MSME actors in Bocek Village will be increasingly aware of the importance of legal protection for their products and innovations, so that they can prevent IPR violations and increase the quality and value of their products on the market.
