Night of Prayer and Appreciation for Covid-19 Humanitarian Fighters from UB

As a form of appreciation to the academic community who struggled during the Covid-19 pandemic, Universitas Brawijaya held an activity entitled “Night of Prayer and Appreciation for UB Community Humanitarian Fighters in the Midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic”. This activity is held online through Zoom media and broadcasted live on Universitas Brawijaya’s YouTube channel, Thursday (08/07/2021).

This event was attended by more than 200 participants, both lecturers, education staff at the faculty, and doctors’ colleagues and health workers at RSUD dr. Saiful Anwar Malang and Universitas Brawijaya Hospital. Also present were the learder of RSUD Dr. Saifur Anwar (RSSA) Malang City, Team of Covid-19 Prevention, Control, and Management Unit (Satgas P3) UB, and all UB Leaders.

In her remarks, the Head of UB P3 Covid-19 Task Force and Director of UB Hospital, Dr. dr. Sri. Andarini, M.Kes,. said that the Task Force Team works to prevent, monitor, and deal with Covid-19 in UB. Many activities have been conducted by the Task Force Team, including tracing, socializing, and the increasing Covid-19 pandemic conditions, the activities are also increasing.

She also thanked the Rector and the staff for appreciating the performance of the task force team. “We thank the Rector and the staff who have appreciated us. Hopefully we can continue fighting to help the people of Malang City and especially to help UB academic community,” she explained.

The Dean of Faculty of Medicine, UB, Dr. dr. Wisnu Barlianto, M.Si.Med., SpA(K), in his speech also expressed his hope. “Hopefully, in the midst of Covid-19 pandemic that continues to increase, we can all pass the calamity together,” he said.

Meanwhile, UB Vice Rector II for General Administration and Finance, Prof. Drs. Gugus Irianto, MSA., PhD., Ak., representing UB Rector, in his speech said that tonight’s activity is part of an effort to always get closer to Allah SWT in the midst of difficult situations.

He added that the Rector and his staff really give support and attention to all health and non-health workers who work directly and indirectly in UB Clinic, RSUB, and RSSA. Since the beginning of the pandemic, UB has consistently provided sufficient support in terms of regulations, strengthened task force teams from university to faculties, and implemented government programs such as vaccination. UB will continue to provide the best support as long as it can.

“We are preparing special appreciation for health workers who fight for Covid-19 at UB Clinic, RSUB, and PPDS RSSA. Whatever we do, of course, we cannot keep up with the hard work of all of you in the front line. May Allah SWT give reward, strength, and blessing to your struggle and all of us with the hope that the pandemic will end soon from the earth,” he said when ending his speech.

In this occasion, UB invites dr. Arif Alamsyah from FKUB to give a motivational speech with the theme “Strengthening Hopes and Leaning to the Strongest”. He explained about how to strengthen mentally and spiritually during a pandemic.
