Thanks to the innovations undertaken to increase the utilization of waste, students of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT-UB), Rhezaldian Eka Darmawan, was again given the award.
This time, the students who were recently selected as the main Mawapres UB 2016, bestowed an Environmental Care Youth Leaders Award of Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) Malang in Entrepreneurial Sector.
According to the KNPI Malang Board member, Dewanggara, this award is a token of appreciation to Malang youth who has an active role in creating an environment that is clean and comfortable and produce innovative work continuously.
“This is our first step, and incidentally the moment is still in line with Malang winning on Adipura Kirana trophy,” said Dewa while giving awards, Sunday, July 31, 2016.
Meanwhile, Rhezaldian who was also selected as the Pemuda Pelopor Kota Malang in 2016 admitted to be proud to be selected as one of the recipients of this award. Moreover, the award is dedicated to welcome the return of Adipura Kirana Malang.
“Alhamdulillah, I really did not expect to get this award. Hopefully it can be useful for the almamater and the community,” he said.
KNPI Malang reward Rhezaldian for successfully treating egg shells waste become environmentally friendly toothpaste so it appreciated and won the competition at the international level.
Besides Rheza, other UB students, Musyawaroh, also awarded the Youth Leaders in Environmental Care Appropriate Technology category. Musyawaroh rated succeeded in developing organic waste management and zero-based inorganic waist to the environment.
Then the two other awards given to students of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang in the category of Education and Dissemination, and also Dwi Kusbiantoro, Karang Taruna Tulusrejo Chairman in the category of Social Community. (and/mic/Humas UB)
