UB Students Participated in Electric Vehicle Training in Beijing

UB Delegation Participates in Electric Vehicle (EV) Training at Beifang Automotive Education, Beijing, China

Ten students from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) had the opportunity to participate in Electric Vehicle (EV) Training at Beifang Automotive Education, Beijing, China. They participated in the activity from November 3 to 30, 2024.

Beifang Automotive Education Group is an educational institution that provides training for automotive technology in various fields, one of which is Electric Vehicle Technology training.

“Here we learn about the detailed working system of each component, why manufacturing prices are much cheaper in China, and also theoretical and practical work related to the development of Electric Vehicles in China, both in the fields of batteries, engines, and other components,” said team representative Johanes Novel Hasiholan Nainggolan to PRASETYA Online, Saturday (11/16/2024).

Johanes and his team previously participated in the selection held by the Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Study Programs until 6 Electrical Engineering students and 4 Mechanical Engineering students were selected. After that, they attended orientation at campus and completed training in more than 60 modules. The course was run for three months, namely two months online and one month on-site at Beifang Automotive Education, Beijing.

“I feel this training is very good and futuristic. We also learn from the business side, so we know why the complex function is used from an economic, ergonomic, and component efficiency perspective. In addition, there are many tools or components that are rarely found in Indonesia, here we get certified trainers and components that have been dissected specifically for learning. Very suitable for students who want to study in detail EV/hybrid learning for the future,” explained this 2021 Electrical Engineering student.

Head of UB Globalizing Center Program, Pantri Muthriana Erza Killian S.IP., M.IEF., Ph.D said that this activity is an implementation of the collaboration between UB and Beifang Automotive Education which was signed on August 24, 2024.

The program under the auspices of the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Internationalization of UB echoes the vision of globalizing UB’s comparative advantages at the international level. One of the main areas to be developed is Electric Vehicles, in line with Indonesia’s focus on electric vehicle technology.

“Collaboration in the fields of student and staff mobility, as well as research and industry, is expected to run sustainably. Because Indonesia is shifting towards electric vehicles. So later UB will train technicians who will be ready to maintain electric vehicles,” explained Erza.

In this first delegation, students were given free training, transportation and accommodation costs. Another advantage is the conversion of credits for the MBKM program. [Hilya/Irene/UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
