A total of 70 students from various faculties with coordination from the Faculty of Agriculture (FP) held a social activity Let’s Share on the Street (MARJAN) 2025, Saturday (3/15/2025) to help people who are fasting during the month of Ramadan.
This activity was carried out by distributing 1,050 portions of boxed rice packages. The distribution points for the boxed rice are located in strategic locations in Malang City, namely Pasar Besar, Alun-Alun Malang, Tugu Malang, Lapangan Rampal, Pasar Wilis-Cybermall, Gadang, and Gajayana Stadium- Ijen Street. The distribution of these boxed rice is expected to provide benefits to people in need, especially when breaking the fast.
The coordinator of the MARJAN activity, Aditya, explained that this activity was the third event after previously receiving a positive response in the previous year.
On that occasion, Aditya said that MARJAN this year managed to collect a total donation of IDR 10,500,000. The funds collected during the collection period from January 10 to March 10, 2025 were used to purchase the ingredients needed to prepare the boxed rice packages.
Aditya also said that this MARJAN activity was the closing of 3 years’ series of activities, but it is hoped that this activity will be continued by the next batch of students. The beginning of this activity, starting from the initiative of students who wanted to contribute to the surrounding community, especially for those who need help during the month of Ramadan.
“We hope that fellow students can care more about the conditions around them and further strengthen the sense of solidarity among each other. Hopefully this activity can inspire other students to participate in efforts to provide assistance to those who are less fortunate,” he said.
This activity is also expected to strengthen social ties between students and the community and build a spirit of caring in facing life’s challenges and be a positive example that can increase social awareness among students and the community around Universitas Brawijaya, especially in this blessed holy month of Ramadan.
