Five students from the Urban and Regional Planning study program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) won Gold Medal at the World Young Inventors Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They are Rahmat Rayansha, M. Filzah Zulfaqar, Elviana Fauziyah, Sri Dyah Nurul F, and Andreas Hutabarat. This activity lasted for three days at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, (15-18/05/2024).
“Alhamdulillah, this is an extraordinary opportunity to be able to take part in an international competition and be awarded the victory after quite a long preparation. We got the Gold Medal with competition from various countries and top universities. Hopefully this will not be a closure but a step towards further victory,” said Rayansha representing the team.
In this competition, the team went through the selection stages of scientific work and prototypes, as well as presentations in front of the judges. Rayansha said, he and his team initiated an innovative solution to help farmers in developing the national economy through empowering young farmers, which was named “Victuality”.
“The ‘Victuality’ system provides purchases of agricultural products directly from the first producer, as well as providing local market information to producers and consumers to facilitate buying and selling via websites and applications using the auction method,” explained Rayansha.
Moreover, he added that ‘Victuality’ also provides an actual information database, and applies the traceability concept for farmers and buyers with the aim of building trust between both parties, as well as providing a platform that makes buying and selling activities easier.
Participants in this competition come from universities from various countries, including Thailand, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and so on.
