Students of the Taxation Study Program, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FIA UB) have won 2nd Runner Up in the 2025 Fantaxtis Scientific Writing Competition (LKTI). This competition was held online by the Tax Center of Pekalongan University on Wednesday (23/04/2025), and was attended by 17 delegation teams from various universities in Indonesia.

This year’s Fantaxtis LKTI competition took the theme “SIGMA (Synergy of the Golden Generation): Gateway for a Better Future of Indonesia Through Taxes”. Participants were encouraged to express creative ideas in solving tax problems in Indonesia.

The delegation consisting of Hilda Tamara Pardosi (2022), Aisyafarras Alfianida (2022), and Alyah Hasnah Saputri (2022) raised the title “Taxwatch: The Role of the Young Generation in Transparency for Fiscal Sustainability and A Prosperous Future”.

Hilda, representing the team, said that the title was chosen to minimize transfer pricing practices. According to her, transfer pricing practices are often used by taxpayers in Indonesia to reduce the value of corporate taxes.

“Transfer pricing practices hinder the ideals of achieving a relatively low tax ratio, so our innovation requires more comprehensive prevention and monitoring from the Directorate General of Taxes,” said Hilda.

The competition assessment was carried out based on several LKTI assessment criteria, namely the suitability of the title with the theme, creativity of ideas, data and reference sources, analysis, and drawing conclusions. As for the presentation criteria, it consists of an assessment of the presentation and discussion conducted with the jury.

Farras said that this competition improved his knowledge and writing skills. Moreover, with the busy internship, organization, and lectures, his team was still able to be consistent with the competitions they participated in. She felt relieved since she managed to finish the writing in the final seconds of the LKTI collection.

“We hope for more activities that hone critical thinking like this. For friends, don’t stop trying and exploring your abilities, one of which is through competitions,” concluded Alyah. [FIM/MIT/UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
