MSMEs becomes one way to increase the income of a region through the resources they produce. Bogoran Village, Kampak District, Trenggalek Regency has very strong MSMEs and tourism and has the potential to compete in the global market. The majority of MSMEs in this village are targeting the food sector such as almonds, tempeh chips, taro chips and others. In addition to the food sector, there are also broom and rayeng handicrafts as well as Jurug Mangir and GUPILI (Huts on the Riverside) tourism.
In line with this potential, Universitas Brawijaya (UB) students who are members of the students build village (MMD) in East Java conducted outreach to the community and MSMEs at the Bogoran Village Hall (13/7/2023). This activity aims to enable the community and entrepreneurs in Bogoran Village to develop digital-based MSMEs in collaboration with business legal aspects so that they are able to compete in the market.
Head of Bogoran Village, Ihsannudin advised students to share knowledge about digital-based MSMEs. “Students impart their knowledge to ladies and gentlemen of all MSME activists and the general public of Bogoran Village, so they hope this can be a step for us to strengthen the economy and develop even further,” said Ihsannudin.
Further counseling activities were divided into two sessions. The first session, socialization regarding the procedures for establishing MSMEs and business legalization. The second session, mentoring training for the establishment or legalization of MSMEs that were undertaken.
Meanwhile field assistant lecturer (DPL) Akhmad Muwafik Saleh, SSos., MSi said that in order for this counseling to be successful, students will coordinate with the village and Artalestari Village Owned Enterprises to provide business assistance.
“Students also coordinate regularly with Artalestari and youth associations so that there is continuity from this training and mentoring onwards,” said Muwafik, a lecturer at FISIP UB, optimistically.
Muwafik hopes that with this counseling activity, the community and entrepreneurs in Bogoran Village can maximize their business development so that they are more competitive. (AMS/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
