FPIK and FMIPA Students Succeed to Pass the Sakura Program

Four student representatives from Universitas Brawijaya include Ilham Misbakudin Al Zamzami (FPIK UB Postgraduate), Fatmawati Agustina (UB FMIPA Postgraduate), Luthfia Ayu Dhea (UB Coastal and Marine Studies Center), and Roudatul Ibdiah (UB Coastal and Marine Studies Center) took a short course at Ritsumeikan University. Their departure in order to take part in the Sakura Exchange in Science Program took place for one week in early December last year.

They visited Sakura Country accompanied by UB lecturer namely Adi Tiya Yanuar who is a Master graduate from Ritsumeikan University. In addition, there were also participants from other countries, namely Laos and Thailand.

The Sakura Exchange in Science Program is an exchange program for students from various developing countries to Japan with the aim of introducing and providing experience related to the development of science and technology in Japan. While there, the activities they participated in included joint laboratory and activities with local students, field work, learning Japanese, traditional culture, Kyoto City Tour, and sharing stories about culture.

According to THE Japan University Rankings, Ritsumeikan University is one of the leading universities in Japan with rank 31 and rank 8 for private universities. As for the West Japan region, Ritsumeikan University ranks 4th and 1st for private universities.[ilham/siti-rahma/ Humas UB/ Trans. Iir]
