On the graduation day of Bangkit Academy even semester, a proud achievement was announced. One of the best teams, the Herbify Team, succeeded in obtaining incubation funding from Google Indonesia and the Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture. This team consists of dedicated members, including Puspa Ayu Faranisa (SI UB 2020), Roy Ardy Colas Napitupulu (Biotechnology UB 2020), Ahmad Fajruddin Syauqi (TIF UM 2020), Hania Pratiwi Ningrum (Informatics UMM 2020), Hildhan Fauzul Hakim (TIF UM 2020), and Krishna Hendra Wijaya (SI Binus 2020).
The Herbify team managed to outperform 787 other teams from start to finish. They presented an application project that aims to become the main center for herbal telemedicine in Indonesia. This idea emerged from their concern regarding the lack of awareness of the abundant potential of herbs in Indonesia, as well as the lack of use of herbs as appropriate health solutions.
“This application started from our concerns regarding the lack of awareness of the abundant potential of herbs in Indonesia and the lack of use of herbs as appropriate health solutions.” Puspa also emphasized that the use of herbs in medicine is no longer just a trend, but is an urgent need to maintain people’s health and welfare. “Herbify is here as a brave innovator to answer this call,” said one of the team members, Puspa Ayu Faranisa.
Herbify designed a revolutionary telemedicine platform. This platform not only provides evidence-based information about herbs, but also provides direct access to herbal information through collaboration with herbal experts. The goal is to help Indonesian people make wise decisions about the use of herbs in their health care.
The Herbify Team’s achievements began with Bangkit Academy program, which is a student competency development program for a career in the world of technology. This program was designed in partnership with the Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, Google, Gojek, Tokopedia, Traveloka, and university partners. Teams that are included in the Top 20 Final Capstone Project at Bangkit Academy have the opportunity to get funding from Google and the Ministry of Education and Culture of 10 thousand dollars or around Rp. 140,000,000 to continue developing their application into an innovative startup. The Herbify Team’s achievements reflect the students’ commitment to developing innovative health solutions and making positive contributions to Indonesian society. However, their journey has only just begun. Always look forward to Herbify’s developments via the available timeline. (rr/is/OKY/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
