The Build Quality of Indonesian Human Resources (BANGKIT) program began in 2021. This program is a collaboration between the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology with Google, GoTo, and Traveloka to train digital talents in Indonesia. BANGKIT 2024 Batch 1 was officially opened on February 22, 2024. In this batch, 4,650 students were selected from 55,000 applicants to take part in training that focuses on artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, mobile development, and cloud computing.
Three students from the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya (FILKOM UB) in BANGKIT 2024 Batch 1 successfully graduated with honors and are currently involved in the Capstone Project, which is a team-based final project that must be completed by participants. The Capstone Project aims to apply the knowledge and skills learned during the program into real solutions that can solve problems in the industrial world or society.
Deswita Marsya Nadia (’21-Information Technology Education) collaborated with students from the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, the University of North Sumatra and the State University of Medan together to develop the LOLOS ASN application. The Android-based Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS) tryout application uses machine learning to analyze the results of user tryouts, aiming to improve the abilities of CPNS exam participants and help them pass with satisfactory results. Deswita said that the application’s marketing strategy is through TikTok and Instagram and also Twitter. Together with the LOLOS ASN team, they upload content regularly, in one day with two or three materials.
Jasmine Asyifania (’21-Information Technology) together with students from the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology and Telkom University developed the Unsmoke application using a gamification approach with a virtual lung sidekick aimed at making the transition to quitting smoking more enjoyable and beneficial for users who are struggling to quit smoking in Indonesia. This application is also in line with the program in Indonesia to quit smoking, because smoking is harmful to health. The things embedded in this application are consistency and also motivation to quit smoking.
Muhammad Farrel Reginaldo Ahnaf (‘21-Information Technology Education) together with students from the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology and Ciputra University Surabaya have succeeded in developing the BengCare application, an Indonesian automotive service that connects users with trusted workshops. Offering AI-based recommendations, transparent prices, and a convenient booking process in one platform. Currently, the development process is conducting a survey in Jakarta, while in Surabaya there are already partners with the application.
Intan Sartika Eris Maghfiroh, S.E., M.B.A. as the PIC of the BANGKIT Program at UB, expressed her pride and appreciation for the achievements of students who successfully passed the incubation funding for their application business ideas.
“This is real evidence of their hard work, innovation, and enthusiasm in creating digital solutions that are beneficial to the wider community. We hope that this funding support can further strengthen their steps in developing business ideas to the implementation stage.
