Pascal Kornelius Stevanus Jordy, a student of the Study Programme of English Literature, Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) class of 2021 was selected as Kangmas of Batu City 2022. He decided to take part in the Kangmas Nimas competition in Batu City in 2022 after previously winning the FCS Ambassador competition in 2021. He tried to broaden his relationships and experiences.
Initially, when registration opened in early January, he planned to join the next competition in 2024. However, his decision switches over since he had a dream to register. In the dream, he claimed to be told that the registration of the Kangmas Nimas in Batu City 2022 would be extended specifically for him. And the dream came true, the registration was extended. He also interpreted his dream as a sign and immediately registered.
Pascal was the youngest candidate in the competition. As he had only a little time for preparation and was going through the final exam, Pascal kept being an enthusiast following a series of the competition’s activities until the end. All activities were carried out offline in different locations. The grand final stage was held at The Singhasari Resort in June 2022.
According to Pascal, many things need to be prepared for the competition, such as looking for the latest news related to tourism to broaden his knowledge, and physical and mental health must also be maintained properly.
During the training, all finalists underwent the same training, namely dance, public speaking, and modeling. Pascal successfully passed all these challenges so that he was elected as Deputy II Kangmas of Batu City 2022. [dts]
