A proud achievement was achieved by Romeo Arfrin Anzalna, a student of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya (FH UB) who won the 2nd Runner Up position in the 2024 East Java Wastra Ambassador Selection.
Romeo said that this event provided an extraordinary experience for him.
“Processing in the East Java realm is not easy, we meet with colleagues from other cities and districts to fight to become the chosen ambassadors by bringing our advocacy to be poured out in East Java of course to preserve wastra itself. It was such a long process and it became an extraordinary personal experience,” said Romeo.
Romeo also added a message to all students to never hesitate to continue to move forward and develop.
“Never hesitate to be one step ahead of where you are now, because there are many places waiting for you to develop out there,” he added.
Wastra, known as a traditional cloth that has its own colors and symbols which is a cultural heritage that includes dimensions of color, motif, size, and so on. Examples of famous wastra include batik, woven, and songket cloth. Each type of wastra carries a deep story and philosophy, reflecting the diverse and rich cultural identity of Indonesia.
Romeo Arfrin Anzalna’s success in this event is not only a personal pride, but also inspires many parties to continue to preserve and promote wastra as a cultural heritage that must be maintained and developed.
