Students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Brawijaya (FEB UB) have successfully recorded brilliant achievements in the Sharia Economic Activity 14 (SEHATI 14) event, in Semarang, (10/9-11/9/2024). They won champions in two prestigious competition categories, namely the Sharia Essay Competition and the Islamic Economic Olympiad. This event was held at Diponegoro University, Semarang, and was attended by well-known universities in Indonesia, such as the University of Indonesia, Gajah Mada University, Airlangga University, Padjajaran University, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, and other universities.
In the Sharia Essay Competition, the FEB UB team consisting of Tika Yusfi Afkarina (Islamic Economics 2021), Fahmi Nasikh Attahmidi (Islamic Economics 2021), and Irsyad Nur Muhammad Habibullah (Islamic Economics 2021) won 1st place, beating competitors from well-known universities.
Meanwhile, in the Islamic Economic Olympiad, another FEB UB team consisting of Izkazikro Rahmat Chaska (Islamic Economics 2023), ‘Aida Aulia Rahmah (Islamic Economics 2023), and Muhammad Fazil Zihni (Islamic Economics 2022) won 2nd place.
The SEHATI 14 event raised the theme “The Role of Young Generation in Achieving Indonesia World Halal Center” to gather the best ideas from students throughout Indonesia. The event was also attended by important figures, including the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. Dr. (H.C) K.H. Ma’ruf Amin, Rector of Diponegoro University Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Sc., Commissioner of Bank Syariah Indonesia Ir. Adiwarman A. K., S.E., MBA., MAEP, and Director of Infrastructure KNEKS, Assoc. Prof. Sutan Emir Hidayat, Ph.D.
This achievement adds to the long list of FEB achievements in the field of Islamic economics, while also proving the quality of their students in facing competition on the national stage.
