The Master of Notary Law Program, Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya (FH) once again held a workshop themed “Thoroughly Discuss ‘Face’ in Deeds and Legal Consequences”, (11/6/2024). The event held today presented two expert speakers in the field of notary law, namely Rino Arief Rahman, S.H., M.Kn. and Dyah Widhiawati, S.H., M.Kn.
The workshop was opened with a presentation from Rino Arief Rahman, S.H., M.Kn., who discussed “Comparison in Elements of Agreements”. In this session, Rino Arief Rahman explained in detail the importance of comparison in making a notarial deed.
“Comparison is one of the crucial elements in an agreement because it functions to ensure the identity and capacity of the parties to the transaction. Without a proper comparison, the validity of the deed can be questioned,” said Rino.
In addition, Rino also emphasized that notaries must be careful and precise in recording every detail provided by the parties.
“Every piece of information provided by the parties must be recorded carefully to avoid legal problems in the future. Small mistakes can have a big impact on the validity of the legal documents made,” he added.
After Rino Arief Rahman’s session, the event continued with the second speaker, Dyah Widhiawati, S.H., M.Kn., who provided her material online. Dyah discussed “Legal Consequences for Parties in Notarial Deeds”.
In her presentation, Dyah highlighted the various legal consequences that could arise for the parties if there is dishonesty or inconsistency in the data provided to the notary.
“The parties must be aware that providing false or misleading information to a notary can have serious legal consequences. Notaries not only serve as witnesses, but also as guardians of the integrity and validity of the documents made. Therefore, it is important for the parties to be honest and open,” explained Dyah.
Dyah also emphasized the need for notaries to continue to improve their competence and understanding of applicable laws in order to provide the best service to the public.
“The professionalism and integrity of notaries are the keys to maintaining public trust and ensuring that every deed made has valid legal force,” she concluded. (Rma/FH PR/ OKY/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
