Master of Communication Science Develops Double Degree Curriculum with the University of Technology Sydney

Master of Communication Science Study Program of Universitas Brawijaya has held a cooperation meeting with University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Tuesday – Wednesday (8-9/10/2024). This meeting is part of the Lecturer Works Grant Program of Universitas Brawijaya in 2024, which aims to formulate an international double degree program with one of the world’s best universities included in the QS Top 200.

The delegation of Universitas Brawijaya who attended this meeting were Maulina Pia Wulandari, S.Sos., M.Kom., Ph.D., as Head of the Master of Communication Science Study Program, and Dr. Antoni, S.Sos., M.Si., senior lecturer of the Master of Communication Science Study Program. From UTS, the meeting was attended by Professor Stephanie Hemelryk Donald, Head of School, Communication, Dr. Kate Delmo, Head of Strategic Communication, Distinguished Professor Jim Macnamara, and other academic staff.

“The preparation of the curriculum and determination of regulations related to the research-based final project are crucial steps to ensure that this Double Degree program can provide maximum benefits for students, both at UB and UTS,” said the Head of the Master of Communication Science Study Program.

The main focus of this meeting was the preparation of a joint curriculum that will support the implementation of the international Double Degree program in Strategic Communication, with an emphasis on expertise in big data, digital analytics, and artificial intelligence. In addition, this meeting also discussed the determination of regulations related to the research-based final project, an important aspect in completing this program.

Professor Stephanie Hemelryk Donald from UTS also welcomed this collaboration. “This program is an extraordinary opportunity for students to learn in an international academic environment and expand their expertise, especially in the field of communication technology which continues to develop,” she said.

This meeting also included discussions on administrative aspects such as study load, financing schemes, and the program implementation schedule which is planned to begin in the next academic year. [team/sitirahma/UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
