LPPM Held First Briefing for Students Build Village

LPPM Universitas Brawijaya (UB) held the first briefing activity for Students Build Villages or MMD. The activity was held to socialize about the technical implementation of MMD and the provision of Ethics, Leadership and Communication in the Village Community. The activity was carried out online Saturday (1/4/2023).

Head of LPPM UB, Prof. Luchman Hakim, S.Si., M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D said that the MMD debriefing program was attended by field supervisors, participating students and the committee.

Prof. Luchman Hakim explained that the MMD activities were based on KKN activities or students going to the village.

“KKN activities in UB have been around for a long time. Specifically in this period, there is a policy that KKN is carried out simultaneously at the university level so that it is jointly coordinated by an LPMM called MMD,” he said.

The advantage of MMD is that students from various faculties can become a solid and holistic team and can get to know each other.

“Actually the aim of MMD is to build sympathy and empathy. Facing big problems dealing with sympathy and empathy, bringing students closer to real life implementing knowledge and technology to society as well as sympathy to understand other parties. After the MMD field activities, students are expected to be able to feel the feelings of other people how we are interested in the facts of community life in the village and how we feel the feelings of other people by empowering the community and alleviating poverty,” he said.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, MP explained that someone’s success in the future is a gift from Allah SWT.

A person’s success is inseparable from how his digital footprint was in the past.

“Digital footprints can be traced to how he passed his youth with productive activities. So not only by fulfill the curriculum, but the students have experience assimilating village communities with all kinds of problems,” he said.

Prof. Imam hopes that this experience can inspire him so that he can gain more comprehensive knowledge.

“The output of MMD activities which will be carried out will be in the form of data and information which will later be collected and entered into a database. The data will be very valuable material for research and publication to meet curriculum needs,” he said.

Meanwhile, Vice Head of MMD Program Implementation Team Yusron Sugiarto, S.T.P., M.P., M.Sc., Ph.D explained about the socialization of the Village Building Student (MMD) Guidebook.

Yusron said that community service activities were an obligation for undergraduate program students in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Higher Education number 3 of 2020

Yusron explained material regarding the preparation of Pre-MMD activities, their implementation, to publication in online media.

The second speaker, Dr. Ir. Susinggih Wijana, MS explained about village institutions, village organizational structures, and types of village institutions.

The third speaker, Tibyani, explained about the Principles of Association Ethics at the KKN Locations, such as morals and harmony, ethics in appearance, and ethics in communication. [Humas UB/ Trans. Iir]
