In the 2024 Medical Fair held by the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing UGM, Innovation from UB lecturer, dr. Domy Pradana Putra, Sp.OT won an achievement in product innovation, one of which is the Load Cell Alarm.
Load Cell Alarm which is a rehabilitation aid for people with thigh and leg injuries. According to him, this innovation is an innovation in the form of socks that have various features that can help with leg rehabilitation and is an update from the previous innovation.
“Actually, there are other products but they are in the form of shoes, in my opinion they are less comfortable and functional. Because not everyone wants to wear them all the time. We upgrade it using socks. There is an alarm and a kind of scale on the heel and there is also a controller. So if we set it to 20kg when it exceeds that it vibrates and colors, “he said.
With features such as scales to control pressure on the feet, it is hoped that users will be indirectly more stable and constant so that foot rehabilitation is maximized. However, there will be additional features in response to patient input to add a sound sensor. Moreover, the results of the report will be entered into the application.
In addition, dr. Domy Pradana Putra, Sp.OT and his team developed new learning tools by utilizing Virtual Reality (VR), this innovation is called VR Plate and Screw. This VR model is to simulate the operating field aimed at students or residents. This provides benefits so that residents can recall and learn in surgical operations with more flexible time.
“VR, which was originally made into a game to form an operating field. In orthopedic surgery education, we have residents (semester 1-10 students) there they have to go through several stages of independent surgery. Scientific to doctors, new assistants directly assist. It requires tools so they can recall without having to wait for the doctor to come and then discuss, “he said. (*/UB UB PR/ Trans. Iir).
