The Government Science Study Program, FISIP Universitas Brawijaya has made a breakthrough to protect its students who are carrying out academic activities outside the campus such as internships, MBKM and KKN by collaborating with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan of Malang City.
The two parties inaugurated the collaboration on Thursday (6/2/2025). UB Government Science Study Program will register all internship, MBKM and KKN students in the Non-Wage Recipient (BPU) segment Employment Social Security program.
BPJS will provide medical care services in accordance with statutory provisions if a work accident occurs to students of the Government Science Study Program.
Students of UB Government Science Study Program who are doing internships, MBKM and KKN will receive the Employment Social Security Program such as Work Accident Insurance and Death Insurance. Students themselves will not pay for this program since it has been taken from the funds of UB Government Science study program.
Head of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Malang City, Zulkarnain Mahading expressed his gratitude for this cooperation. He emphasized that Work Accident Insurance and Death Insurance will be given to users during working hours from arriving to leaving the office.
“Participants will also receive Work Accident Insurance of up to 112 million rupiah in the event of total disability up to Death Insurance with a predetermined nominal,” he said.
Head of the Center for Information Systems and Public Relations of FISIP, Tia Subekti S.IP., MA said that the Government Science Study Program strives to provide security guarantees for all students who carry out internships in various agencies in several cities in Indonesia.
“This is done to minimize the risk of work activities they do during the internship. Therefore, we at the study program also feel calm because this is one of our responsibilities to the parents of students,” he explained.
The collaboration between the Government Science Study Program of FISIP UB and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan of Malang City will last for 5 years. (FISIP PR/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
