DinusFest is a series of competitions and various kinds of expos organized by Dian Nuswantoro University Semarang (UDINUS) in the early of February 2022.
This activity is an annual routine agenda of Dian Nuswantoro University. This time, students of the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya (FILKOM UB) participated in the event and won the 2nd place (Runner Up) in the category of Young Muslim Creativity UI/UX.
The team from FILKOM UB consists of Luvita Intan Cahyani, Aufa Azmirania, and Zhafirah Hafizah with supervisor Komang Candra Brata, S.Kom., M.T., M.Sc. which produces the application work “Safha”.
The purpose and benefits of the creation of this application is to increase interest in reading from the community, especially for the Muslim community.
“The work we brought up in the competition was a UI/UX design regarding an e-library application or an Islamic digital library called Safha. We spent approximately 10 days in making this work,” said Luvita
Luvita explained that Safha was developed as a digital library service or e-library in the form of a mobile application that can provide benefits to its users so that users can read books especially with Islamic genre. Safha also provides various other genres such as self-development which in writing is in accordance with Islamic rules in life. In this application, users can borrow books for free with certain limitations.
“The obstacle we faced was in the early stages where we collected ideas as well as outlined solutions that we could provide to be realized before finally forming the Safha application,” continued Luvita.
The user interface design of the Safha application can be an effort to increase the attractiveness of reading and make it easier for Indonesian Muslim community to find Islamic books that are packaged with an attractive user interface with various features.
Safha was developed as a digital library service or e-library in the form of a mobile application that can provide benefits for its users so that users can read books especially with the Islamic genre. Safha also provides various other genres such as self-development which in writing is in accordance with Islamic rules in life. In this application users can borrow books for free with certain limitations.
Users who want to have wider access can also subscribe. Users who have finished reading a book can provide a rating and review so that other users can see feedback before starting to borrow. In Safha application, users can interact or discuss in a chat room that can be used for discussion. Safha also provides audio books that can read every word in a book.
