
The farewell event of the Director of Center for International Affairs (PUI) or the International Office of Universitas Brawijaya (IO UB) was held on Monday (17/01/2021), at IO Session Room. Prof. Dr. Ir. Ifar Subagiyo, M.Agr.St has completed his duty as the Director of IO UB for the period 2011-2021, and was replaced by Didik Hartono, S.S., M.Pd as the definitive director.
Presenting at this event, the Vice Rector for Planning and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Ir. Moch. Sasmito Djati, M.S. He expressed his gratitude to Prof. Ifar who has served and raised IO UB for more than ten years.
“If legacy is usually in the form of physical building, Prof. Ifar has given in non-physical forms, such as pioneering international cooperation, building a system and climate so that it can attract more foreign students to study at UB, as well as guiding foreign students, which I believe the problem is not simple. I hope that what has been built can be continued and developed,” said Prof. Sasmito.
On this occasion, Prof. Ifar deliver the end of office report. There are the admission of foreign students has been well structured. IO has also built an International Students Service Evaluation or evaluation system to determine the satisfaction index of international students. In 2015, the student satisfaction index score reached 79, and in 2021 it increased to 85.
Several international activities in UB have also been successfully initiated by IO UB, including 3 in 1 activities, World Class University scheme, and inbound and outbound student exchanges.
“Thank you for the contribution, dedication, and hard work of colleagues in helping me manage PUI. Congratulations to Mr. Didik Hartono, I believe he can develop PUI so that it becomes better and useful for UB and national interests,” said Prof. Ifar.
Meanwhile, Didik Hartono expressed his appreciation for the leadership of Prof. Ifar who has built a service system for foreign students and international cooperation.
“I will continue all the programs that have been initiated by Prof. Ifar. The first is the field of international student admission, which is to increase the number of foreign student admission capacities. Second, increasing competitive advantage in order to attract foreign students by creating a good cultural system. Third, increase international cooperation with foreign universities,” he said.
