Brawijaya University (UB) conducted a marathon running activity on Thursday (4/1/2024). Marathon Run to Trace Raden Wijaya was carried out in the framework of the 61st UB Anniversary Commemoration. Marathon run was attended by 27 runners consisting of lecturers, employees, students and UB alumni.
The start was carried out from the Great Pavilion of Raden Wijaya Mojokerto. The trip process will be divided into two stages. In the first stage, participants run a distance of 35 km in a relay. The first stage of the start line to the great pavilion of Raden Wijaya then to Jetis Hamlet Mosque, then to Balekambang Water Tourism, then to across 0 point of Pacet, Sendi Rest area, and ends at ATPUB, Cangar. All runners will rest in Cangar area.
While on the second stage which was continued the next day, the running participants were targeted to travel a distance of 35 km with a start from Cangar to the front of army retired housing, then to At-Taqwa Batu Mosque, then to the A.R. Fachruddin Mosque UMM and ended at the Samantha Krida UB Building.
“This activity is one of our efforts to return to remember the glory of Majapahit and Raden Wijaya. Both are symbols of the embryo of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. This activity has been going on since last year and it is hoped that it can be carried out every year, at every celebration of UB Anniversary, “explained Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Setiawan Noerdajasakti, S.H., M.H. while departing the marathon runner group.
After running and covering a total distance of 70km, in this final stage the entire group will go straight to Samantha Kridha (Sakri) UB where UB Senate is held in the framework of the 61st Anniversary.
