Laboratories at Faculty of Animal Husbandry are Targeting to Achieve ISO 17025 Accreditation

ISO 17025 training for laboratories at Faculty of Animal HusbandryFaculty of Animal Husbandry University of Brawijaya as a scientific faculty has 20 laboratories and divisions to support teaching learning process. Towards its ASEAN’s competitive, Vice Dean I, Dr. Ir. Lilik Eka Radiati, MS held a training on document arrangement and laboratories’ quality internal audit which refers to ISO/IEC 17025: 2008.

Indonesian National Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2008 is a quality standard to create for testing and calibration laboratories. Management requirements are in related with operational and laboratories quality management system effectiveness while technical requirements are including technical, analyst competence, testing methodology, equipment and quality and also testing/calibration result report.

An event that conducted for two days, Tuesday-Wednesday (21-22/Jun/2016) invited a lecturer on Faculty of Animal Husbandry Dr. Masdiana C. Padaga, DVM. M.App.Sc and a lecturer on Faculty of Agricultural Technology of University of Brawijaya Dr. Ir. Nur Hidayat, MP as speakers, and also representative of each laboratory assistant and laboratory head at Faculty of Animal Husbandry area as training participants.

On the occasion, Masdiana delivered the benefits of ISO 17025 for laboratories such as in order to obtain recognition on laboratories competence, profits in marketing, comparison of laboratories capabilities, and international recognition. In addition, training participant also guided to arrange ISO documents and also simulation of audit practice (based on satisfaction index) and findings improvement action.
