UB team consisting of the Directorate of Innovation and Business Incubator (DI2B), Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Unti Ludigdo, Ak, Vice Rector IV for Planning, Cooperation and Internationalization Andi Kurniawan, S.Pi., M.Eng.D.Sc; University Secretary Dr. Tri Wahyu Nugroho, S.P., M.Si and UB Tech BUA (Academic Business Entity) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) visited two large companies, namely PT AOBI and PT Wika Manufaktur (WIMA) in order to strengthen cooperation in the field of innovation and downstream research in Universitas Brawijaya, Wednesday (29/3/2023). This visit was conducted to introduce the potential and capabilities of UB Tech BUA (Academic Business Entity) Universitas Brawijaya and DI2B in developing research and innovation in the field of technology.
The first visit was carried out at PT AOBI which is a company engaged in the field of maklon and powder drinks. In addition, PT AOBI is also developing a factory in Malang for herbal medicines and skincare.
PT AOBI is currently working on several big brands and has products that sell well in the market such as male stamina, slimming drugs, and beauty collagen. Commissioner of PT AOBI, Rinto explained the policy of using raw materials already has a certificate of analyst, so that the quality of the products produced can be guaranteed.
On the second visit, to PT Wika Manufaktur (WIMA), DI2B and UB Tech Universitas Brawijaya focused on developing controllers for electric motors. WIMA is developing a controller innovation for the needs of electric motors. Collaboration with UB Tech and DI2B can accelerate technology development and produce new innovations that are better and more efficient.
DI2B and UB Tech Universitas Brawijaya were received by the Director of PT WIMA M. Samyarto and representatives from BRIN. During the visit, DI2B and UB were able to see directly the production process of Gesits electric motors and discussions about the development of better and more efficient controller technology.
Collaboration in the field of controller development for electric motors with PT WIMA has great potential and can provide benefits to the community and the surrounding environment. Electric motors are one of the technologies that are developing rapidly and are a more environmentally friendly alternative compared to gasoline motors. The development of better and more efficient controller technology can accelerate the adoption of electric motorbikes in society.
The collaboration between DI2B and UB Tech Universitas Brawijaya with PT WIMA can also expand the network and improve the university’s reputation. By expanding the network and establishing relationships with big companies such as PT WIMA, DI2B and UB Tech, Universitas Brawijaya can be more involved in technology development and make a bigger contribution to the industry in Indonesia.
