Krida of Engineering Students Begins, Thousands of Freshmen Present Online

Freshmen (maba) Development Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) is still on going. Saturday, October 24, 2020, all FTUB freshmen were gathered online in the Student Krida 2020/2021 activities.

Present to open the event that morning, The Expert Staff of the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Redi Bintarto, ST., M.Eng.Pract. It is reported that the number of freshmen attending that morning activity was 1,148 with 677 male students and 471 female students.

Using Zoom, Google Classroom, and YouTube, new students are divided into five zooms with each zoom consisting of three to four clusters.

“We broadcast it through YouTube so that it can be seen by all freshmen, while for the students attendance, it is divided into 16 google classrooms,” said the Chief Executive from the student element, Faisal Maulana Ibrahim.

The first speaker was Ir. Eko Andi Suryo, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. This Civil Engineering lecturer provides material regarding the development of IQ, SQ, and EQ in the academic field and its implementation in the campus life.

“Students are not only about intellectuals, but they also must pay attention to their attitude. That attitude will determine your success in the future!” said Ir. Eko ended his presentation.

This point was also agreed by the second speaker, that is Redi Bintarto. This Mechanical Engineering lecturer provides material on Character and Soft Skills Development for new students.

“Use all the facilities provided to its maximize potential, hone your soft skills and talent. Work together, communicate, and maximize your potential so that when you graduate you can become a competent Engineer with a strong character, have a good work ethic, and of course be religious,” he said.

The Krida 2020/2021 will continue on 7, 14, 21 November, and 5 December 2020 which will be held online using media zoom and google classroom. (mic)
