President Joko Widodo has officially inaugurated the National Commission for Disabilities, Tuesday (1/11/2021). There are seven members who are officially appointed by the President.
By the inauguration of the National Commission for Disabilities, the lecturer of Sociology FISIP UB, Slamet Tohari MA, hopes that the commission members will be able to carry out their duties in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 8 of 2016 concerning persons with disabilities.
“First, of course, they must be able to carry out their duties as mandated by Law number 8 of 2016,” he said, Wednesday (2/11/2021).
Furthermore, the man who is active in the Study Center of Disability Services, Universitas Brawijaya encourages the National Commission for Disabilities to be able to fight for the fulfillment of the rights of people with disabilities in every sector. The most important in the government sector.
“Especially in the government sector first. Every Ministry can fulfill the rights of people with disabilities to services,” said Slamet Tohari.
He assessed that the newly inaugurated commission should have a target in the first year, especially in the implementation of the rights of people with disabilities in the government sector.

This great hope is conveyed by the teaching staff at UB to the seven members of the National Commission for Disabilities. One of them is able to work optimally and is able to encourage the values of inclusiveness to be implemented.
