By the increasing number of COVID-19 patients in Malang City, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) distributed PCR tool assistance to the Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Clinic. Providing this assistance in order to support the handling of the COVID-19 disaster.
In accordance with the handover report, the logistical assistance and equipment were handed over by Ibnu Asur as the Director of Optimization and Logistics Network of BNPB on Friday (1/1/2021).
These Aid include 1 unit of Linegene 9600 Plus PCR Machine, 5000 Intron Brand PCR tests, 5000 Intron Brand RNA tests, and 5000 Thorax Brand VTM tests.
Director of UB Clinic, dr. Fida Rahmayanti, MMRS said that this assistance is very much needed because at the clinic currently there are no facilities and infrastructure for PCR testing services.
The provision of this assistance is also a follow-up to the Minister of Health’s visit last year with special staff of Menkes, dr. Mariya Mubarika, who previously also contributed antibody rapid tests.
“Currently, we do not yet have a PCR test kit, but in early 2021 we received assistance. This assistance is inseparable from the cooperation between UB which has been well established with the Ministry of Health and BNPB, “he said.
This assistance will later be used as an effort to prevent, control and tackle COVID-19.
In addition, it is also an effort to increase service innovation, especially in the current pandemic era.
The hope is that the collaboration between BNPB and the Ministry of Health can continue for the betterment of Universitas Brawijaya. And so that UB Clinic can always improve the best service to the community, especially in the field of health services. (IKA / Humas UB/ Trans. Iir)
