The Universitas Brawijaya Bureaucratic Reform Unit (UB RB) held the Kick Off for the Development of Integrity Zone 2025, Tuesday (7/1/2025), in the Banquet Room of the Rectorate Building, sixth floor. This activity was attended offline and online by the ranks of the rectorate leadership, faculty deans, directors, heads and area managers in the Integrity Zone of all work units.
The Head of UB Bureaucratic Reform Unit, Dr. Ngesti Dwi Prasetyo, S.H., M.Hum said that this activity was held to strengthen and socialize the direction of Integrity Zone development in UB, as well as to align perceptions on how to implement Integrity Zone development in the six existing areas of change, namely the areas of change management, governance, accountability, supervision, and public service areas.
“The development of the Integrity Zone in UB in 2024 includes 22 work units, which 19 of them are part of the Chancellor’s IKU with the ministry whose target is actually 50 percent, Alhamdulillah it can reach 100 percent. Thank you to all the heads of work units who have participated and are serious about developing the Integrity Zone in 2024,” said Ngesti.
In 2025, Ngesti said one thing that is a shared commitment is “UB is clean and serving”. In addition to being clean, it is hoped that UB’s human resources will be able to provide the best service. Because the highest achievement in developing the Integrity Zone is an area that free from corruption and serving.
He continued, the development of the Integrity Zone is purely from the bureaucratic ecosystem, namely governance, SOP, how to obtain human resources, how to provide services and accountability.
“So what we build is purely an ecosystem. If the approach model is right, I think the development of the Integrity Zone will not be a burden,” said Ngesti.
UB Chancellor, Prof. Widodo, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D.Med.Sc said that there are three ecosystems that must synergize and be improved in efficiency, namely the academic ecosystem, the bureaucratic ecosystem, and the income-generating or business ecosystem.
“We improve the academic ecosystem to be better by reducing the workload of lecturers who enter the bureaucratic ecosystem as much as possible. So, the lecturers will be more focused on developing science. Because basically, the existence of higher education must have meaning in society, helping the needs of society, both in rural areas, urban areas, and industrial communities,” explained the Chancellor.
In addition, UB’s educational staff must also be stronger in building a bureaucratic climate. And for the industrial ecosystem, the Chancellor appealed for the need to collaborate with industry to conduct innovation development research.
This activity was combined with the presentation of the evaluation results of the development of the Integrity Zone in UB, the presentation of the results of the Anti-Corruption Perception Index (IPAK) in UB, the presentation of the State Officials’ Wealth Report (LHKPN), SPT, and KPK goals in UB, also discussions.
