Industrial EngineeringEstablishes International Collaboration with Mechanical Engineering Universiti Malaya

As many as five lecturers who are members of the Lecturer Work activity of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (DTI FT-UB) established cooperation with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Malaya, Thursday (8/8/2024).

The activity, chaired by Ir. L. Tri Wijaya Nata Kusuma, ST., MT., Ph.D., consists of Prof. Sugiono, ST., MT., Ph.D., Debrina Puspita Andriani, ST., M.Eng., Ph.D., Ir. Rio Prasetyo Lukodono, ST., MT., Ph.D., and Rakhmat Himawan, ST., M.Sc. Ph.D.

Lecturer Work is one of the programs initiated by Universitas Brawijaya to improve cooperation and collaboration, as well as accelerate the development of science and innovation with world-class universities. Universiti Malaya itself is known as a reputable university with a QS Rank of 60.

One of the collaborations scheduled in this program is collaboration in the field of Education for the preparation of a joint curriculum in preparation for classes at the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) DTI FT-UB which will open in the 2024/2025 academic year. The discussion began with an explanation of the IUP DTI FT-UB to the proposal of courses that can be taken by students in the exchange program. The exchange program is one part of the single degree plus program that can be taken by students at the IUP DTI FT UB. This activity was attended by the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Malaya, Asoc. Prof. Dr. Nurin Wahidah Binti Mohd Zulkifli, and representatives of lecturers from the department, such as Asoc. Prof. Dr. Raja Ariffin Bin Raja Ghazilla, Dr. Goh Yingxin, Dr. Muhammad Khairi Faiz Bin Ahmad Hairuddin, Asoc. Prof. Dr. Salwa Hanim Binti Abdul Rashid, Dr. Siti Nurmaya Binti Musa, and others.

The results of the discussion formulated an agreement on courses and credit transfer mechanisms which were outlined in the Implementation Agreement (IA) and course equivalency matrix. In addition, opportunities for double degree programs and joint supervision were also discussed on this occasion. According to the chief executive, L. Tri Wijaya, this activity is expected to provide benefits in building networks and developing quality education to answer future challenges.
