University of Brawijaya (UB) welcomed the visit of Local Government of Teluk Bintuni, West Papua on Wednesday (25/May/2016). The visit that related with Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing between UB and the district which has 13.02% areas of West Papua was conducted at Meeting room of Faculty of Economics and Business’ Deanery building.
In his address, Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Mohammad Bisri, MS expected that MoU was not only in form of merely signing but there must be also an implementation within. Bisri explained, one of the things that is focused of the MoU was human resources development in fresher scholarship concept via selection of SNMPTN/SBMPTN/SPMK/SPMV from the Local Government of Teluk Bintuni. “The District of Teluk Bintuni can propose scholarship to UB by enclosing raport and student’s achievements which later to be considered and should fulfill Dikti standard,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Head of Local Planning and Development Agency of District of Teluk Bintuni, Dr. Alimuddin Baedu, MM delivered his happiness to be able to collaborate with UB. “This is a part of District Teluk Bintuni’s vision and mission to collaborate with UB in human resources development,” said Alimudin.
Alimudin presented some partnership points such as in subjects of education, research and community services and also human resources development for five years. He added, for the future, one of programs from District of Teluk Bintuni in arranging master plan of mangrove forest development with Faculty of Engineering UB, requires human resources in the field of medical, engineering and accounting.
