Tasikmadu Urban Village continues to improve the quality of its service programs. The Head of Tasikmadu Urban Village, Adhi Kristanto, S.Pd. M.AP, hopes for an increase in the quality of programs provided to Tasikmadu residents, especially in the empowerment program for vulnerable groups. The visit of Head of the Village with the Head of the Empowerment Section, Silvia Andriani, SE. and Nanang Kusdianto, SE., Tuesday (8/5/2024), met with a lecturer from the Department of Psychology, Ilhamuddin, S.Psi., M.A
This discussion is a breakthrough in how to find new insights in designing sustainable empowerment programs.
“This year, we hope for new innovations in our services, especially in maximizing the output of the program in the field of community empowerment,” said Silvia.
Ilham, who is a lecturer in the Department of Psychology, explained that service programs in general should not be seen partially. It must be viewed from upstream to downstream. Starting from the needs of service users to the capabilities of institutions or service providers. Especially when discussing empowerment.”
According to Ilham, community empowerment must be based on two things, namely first, potential assets in the target, and second, stakeholder involvement in ensuring the success of the program. These two things must be identified completely, after which they are used as initial capital to carry out program mapping and planning.
“In addition to comprehensive knowledge related to the two things above, the approach to empowerment must not come from parties outside the empowerment target, it must be based on the needs and potential of the target. One approach that can be used besides PAR (Participatory Action Research) is ABCD (Asset Based Community Development),” explained Ilham.
“The next step that needs to be taken immediately is to identify the targets and final objectives of the program, then align them with the resources needed,” added Ilham.
At the end of the discussion, Silvia hoped that in the future she could collaborate with Universitas Brawijaya in programs implemented by Tasikmadu Village. [*/sitirahma/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
