The Master of Communication Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya conducted an excursion study to the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Thursday (25/7). This activity is part of the commitment in improving the quality of education and student experience through excursion study and benchmarking events. This event aims to study and deepen the fields of study of Strategic Communication, Marketing Communication, and Tourism Communication.
In this activity, students and lecturers from the Master of Communication Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UB had the opportunity to interact directly with the officials of the Indonesian Embassy. The ongoing discussion covered various important topics related to communication strategy, marketing, and tourism, providing in-depth insights for the participants.
“We gained insight from the education attaché regarding cooperation with universities in Malaysia. In addition, there was also input from the education attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur regarding what activities or cooperation can be carried out at the master’s study program level. They will also provide assistance to us if there are obstacles in implementing cooperation with universities in Malaysia,” said Maulina Pia Wulandari, Ph.D, Head of the Communication Science Masters Study Program.
In addition to the main activities, this event also opens up new opportunities for UB students. One of the initiatives being developed is student exchange cooperation by organizing the Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) activity. This plan includes sending representatives of Communication Science students from FISIP UB to conduct study visits or internships at various institutions in Malaysia. Moreover, UB also opens opportunities for Undergraduate (S1) and Master (S2) graduates to continue their studies to the Masters and Doctoral levels in Malaysia.
This excursion and benchmarking study event are expected to become the beginning of many strategic collaborations between Universitas Brawijaya and various international institutions. Thus, UB continues to be committed to providing quality and relevant educational experiences for its students. [rafly/sitirahma/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
