Approaching to Election, FISIP-Bawaslu Malang City Initiate Collaboration

The 2024 Election Stages are already underway. As a form of election guard movement, FISIP Universitas Brawijaya officially cooperates with Bawaslu Malang City. The inauguration of this collaboration took place on Monday (28/8/2023).

The Chairman of Malang City Bawaslu, Mochamad Arifudin, revealed that before the inauguration of this collaboration, several FISIP students with apprentice status had assisted several Bawaslu programs.

“We also just finished monitoring and evaluating with friends from the Government Science study program. “Of course, with this collaboration we will provide the best for our colleagues at FISIP,” he explained.

With this collaboration, Mochamad Arifudin explained that Bawaslu would be optimized as an academic field for FISIP, starting from handling violations to other matters.

“We also have a participatory cadre supervision school program. “Later, students can play a full role until the supervision process is completed on February 14 2024,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FISIP UB, Anang Sujoko S.Sos., M.Sc., D.COMM hopes that the collaboration that is forged is not only on paper so that it becomes unproductive for both parties. It is hoped that this collaboration can become a synergy between the two parties.

“This collaboration is of course not only students can do internships at Bawaslu but friends in study programs can take advantage of this collaboration,” he explained.

Anang Sujoko revealed that Election violations were handled by Bawaslu and then finished all this time, but for the world of education this could be research material from various perspectives such as psychology, politics to communication.

“Friends of study programs who need data from Bawaslu, of course this collaboration can make things easier for the FISIP academic community,” he said.

The inauguration of the collaboration between FISIP and Bawaslu Malang City complements the collaboration that has been carried out with other regions. Previously, FISIP had collaborated with Bawaslu Malang Regency and Batu City. (FISIP PR/ OKY/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
