The Communication Sciences Department of Brawijaya University held a farewell ceremony with inbound exchange students from the Media and Communication Studies study program, University of Malaya, who had completed the two-week program, Thursday (29/2/2024).
The event began with a speech by the Head of the Department of Communication Sciences, Brawijaya University, Prof. Rachmat Kriyantono S.Sos., M.Si., P.hD, until it closed with a friendly event and had a meal together with a variety of typical Indonesian culinary delights.
Shaarumadhi Chandran, the team leader of the inbound student group from the University of Malaya, admitted that he was very happy to have the opportunity to visit Indonesia and be part of the students studying at Brawijaya University.
“Here we learn a lot about marketing, public relations (PR), and intercultural communication, all of which are new learning for all of us, especially the digital PR and also marketing in Indonesian contexts as well (especially the science of digital public relations and marketing science which implemented in Indonesia), so we can find out and compare what conditions are like in Malaysia and Indonesia,” he explained on the same occasion.
The student, who is familiarly called Sha, is happy to have gotten to know Malang City, along with its various local wisdom. Uniquely, Sha also mentioned several shopping centers in Malang City that he had visited with his inbound team friends.
“We visited the Malang Creative Center (MCC), Purwodadi Flower Garden, and Singosari Temple, all of these places, we are very happy to have had an impressive two weeks here,” he continued.
