The International Office of Universitas Brawijaya (IO-UB) once again participated in the “Kampung Cempluk Festival” on Sunday, September 22. This annual event, held in the village of Kalisongo, Dau District, Malang Regency, is a parade and cultural exchange featuring national and international participants. This year, IO-UB brought along 14 international students from various countries, including Sudan, Yemen, Afghanistan, East Timor, Pakistan, and Myanmar. They wore traditional attire from their respective countries as they paraded through Kampung Cempluk.

The Director of IO-UB, Dr. Didik Hartono, S.S., M.Pd, stated that this is not the first time IO-UB has participated in the festival. According to him, this activity is important because Kampung Cempluk is located near UB Campus 2 in Dieng, Malang City. Additionally, the event serves as an opportunity for UB’s international students to get to know the culture of the Malang Raya community. “We are grateful to be invited to this festival every year. We intentionally involve international students so they can also get to know the socio-cultural life of the city where they study,” he said.
