In a major step towards innovation and technology transfer, the Directorate of Innovation and Science Technology Areas (DIKST) Brawijaya University (UB) has played a key role in facilitating important collaboration between UB Atsiri Institute with Persada Hospital and ISS Facility Service. The main aim of this collaboration is to introduce innovative disinfectant products that use essential oils as the main active ingredient.
This disinfectant product is not only effective in killing germs but is also unique in having the ability to reduce the attraction of insects, an important breakthrough in the field of health and hygiene. In addition, the aroma of this product was developed to provide an aromatherapy effect, providing additional benefits in the form of calm and comfort for the user.
This activity was attended by several important figures, including Prof. Dr. Drs. Warsito, M.S from the Atsiri Institute, who has an important role in developing this product. He was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ir. Sukardi, M.S, and Risna Silvianti, S.T., M.Sc., both of whom have made significant contributions to the research and development of this product. Dias Satria, PhD, represented DIKST at this event, showing the institution’s commitment to innovation and sustainable collaboration. Ardantya Syahreza from UB External Innovation Committee also provided support and insight.
During the meeting, various aspects of this disinfectant product were discussed in depth, including its efficacy, safety and potential use in various environments, especially in hospitals and public service facilities. This discussion emphasized the importance of continuous innovation and collaboration between institutions in facing public health challenges.
It is hoped that this disinfectant product can be a new solution in infection control efforts, especially in places that require high hygiene standards such as hospitals. The use of essential oils not only makes it environmentally friendly but also provides added value through its therapeutic aroma.
DIKST, through this initiative, shows its commitment to support innovation that is oriented towards practical and effective solutions for society. This collaboration is a clear example of how educational institutions, hospitals and service companies can work together to create products that are not only innovative but also have a positive impact on society at large.
This activity marks the first step in a series of collaborations that will continue to be developed by DIKST, underscoring the importance of synergy between academia, industry and the service sector in encouraging innovation and technology transfer for shared prosperity. [dias/ron/UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
