Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Alumni Association (IKA) held activities on the 3rd floor of UB Guest House. The activity carried out was Alumni Goes to Campus “Strengthening Alumni Networks Towards the 2045 Golden Generation”, Thursday (10/8/2023).
The activity was opened by UB Rector, Prof. Widodo was accompanied by Vice Rector III (WR III) Dr. Setiawan Noerdajasakti. Also present were several UB alumni, including Lukman Edy (Minister of Acceleration of Disadvantaged Regions 2007-2009), Soelasno Lasmono (Director of PT. Hunting Energy Asia), Iwan Suprijanto (Director General of PUPR Housing), M Alfin Zaini (Director of Operations of Semen Tonasa) and Soelchan Arief Efendie (Chairman of IKA Alumni Malang Raya). Sis Apik Wijayanto (Director of Enterprise n Commercial Banking BNI), and Didik Farkhan (Head of Banten High Court).
Prof. Widodo said that currently the graduation process for a year is around 15 thousand alumni each year. There needs to be various efforts to accommodate the various alumni. UB is given a challenge from the government to enter the world’s 500th ranking.
“UB is given a difficult challenge to enter the world’s top 500. The help of energy and thoughts from UB alumni who have taken part in various circles is very much needed. There are so many UB activities that are expected to get help from alumni to further improve UB’s quality,” said the Professor of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA).
