A student of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Brawijaya (FEB UB), Muhammad Fahmi Fayzul Haq, won the award as the best delegate and second place winner of Best Innovation Product at the International Youth Innovation Summit Competition at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia on (10/10/2024).

Best Delegate is an award won by 56 Delegates from all over Indonesia. This award was won with indicators of activeness, discipline, and synergy during the competition. Meanwhile, the 2nd winner of Best Innovation Product is an award won from a business plan idea that was presented to international judges from three countries.

“The innovation product champion that I am carrying is in the agricultural technology sector called ‘teravolve’. This innovation is based on the fact that Indonesia is currently facing serious challenges in the agricultural sector and food security on the threshold of the Society 5.0 era. BPS data shows a significant increase in rice imports, reaching 3.5 million tons throughout 2023, a drastic increase of 613.61% from the previous year,” he said.

He added that this condition opens up opportunities for technological innovation in overcoming agricultural problems, in line with the principles of Society 5.0.

“Responding to this challenge, Teravolve is here with an innovative solution in the form of high-quality Japonica rice production “Oryza sativa” (subsp. Japonica) using a hydroponic rice cultivation system based on the Internet of Things (IoT),” said Fahmi.

In preparing for the competition, Fahmi explained that he had made many preparations and of course it was inseparable from prayer and trust. He admitted that he also conducted research and consultation with agricultural students to produce an innovative idea.
