Mistress Taste Maggot and Drink Rainwater

The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FISIP) in collaboration with SDGs UB and Blitar Regency Environmental Service (DLH) held a Bimtek on waste recycling in Nuswantara Building, VII floor of FISIP Universitas Brawijaya Malang, Tuesday (7/3/2023).

The Technical Assistance activity which was attended by Dharma Wanita Blitar Regency was also filled with an introduction to various products from recycled waste, including tasting magot, drinking rainwater, trying on clothes, bags and various crafts from processed household waste materials.

The Dharma Wanita participants also tried on clothes and dresses made from recycled waste.

“Delicious, savory. Please ladies, let’s try it. You don’t have to imagine disgust, this is dried magot, it’s been fried, you don’t have to pay,” said Efrida, a speaker from Eltari Garbage Bank.

Initially, some participants seemed doubtful. Some still imagine disgust. But one by one, in the end many participants approached and dared not be shy to try it.

Among the participants who then approached the table where the demo of processed waste products was seen, the wife of the Regional Secretary of Blitar Regency, Hartatik Izul Marom, and several wives of officials from the Blitar Regency Environmental Service were seen.

In addition to fried maggot, there is also a healthy distillation of rainwater. This rainfed water is saved in various media that have been provided at home. So far, not many people have used rainwater to save and then drink it. This is a source of free water from God and this rain water is healthy, it can be used for healing therapy for diseases. To keep rainwater sterile, the saved rainwater is then distilled for drinking.

“Fresh, healthy. Please try it, try it, said Yusuf, another source while offering to drink rainwater.

In this activity, a number of FISIP UB lecturers, such as Muzakki and Mayuko, became speaker.

Alhamdulillah, hopefully this event will bring blessings for Blitar which is clean from garbage, healthy, and has sustainable environmental development,” said Vice Dean II of FISIP UB, Dr. Ahmad Imron Rozuli, MS.i (Tim/ Humas UB/ Trans. Iir).
