
Session 1 of the Computer-Based Written Exam (UTBK) at Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Wednesday (23/04/25), was attended by 2926 participants or 96.25%. It was recorded that the number of UTBK participants at UB on the first day should have been 3040 participants so that 114 participants were absent.
“On average, every year 5 percent are absent. And of course there are many factors that we do not know until now. There is a possibility that they were accepted into civil service, the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) program at various universities including UB,” explained Prof. Dr. Imam Santoso, S.TP., M.P., as the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at UB UTBK Press Conference at the Rectorate Building, Wednesday (23/4/2025) in the Rectorate lobby.
From year to year, the number of UTBK participants at UB Campus has been recorded as increasing. In 2025, Prof. Imam explained that the total number of participants taking the UTBK at UB was 20,859 participants spread across various regions in Java. In addition to East Java participants totaling 18,767, from West Java and East Kalimantan also reached 376 and 237 participants.
UB has prepared many things for the smooth running of UTBK. UB deployed 474 room supervisors and 147 technical supervisors to maintain order during the exam. In addition to human resources, UB also provides 1,520 computer units along with 152 backup units, not to mention 60 metal detector units to prevent cheating.
Delivered by Dr. Raden Arief Setyawan, ST, related to the provision of servers, several trials have been conducted. The first was in March as instructed by the Central Committee. “Next, we tried the first trial of how the server capacity is sufficient for 1520. Alhamdulillah, it can be conditioned,” he said.
Meanwhile, to maintain traffic flow, security and comfort due to the presence of thousands of participants, coordination has been carried out with security forces and the Transportation Agency. The Director of the Directorate of Administration and Academic Services, Dr. Rosihan Asmara SE, MP, said that the campus has notified security forces and carried out traffic engineering with UB Gate Open and Close mechanism which is carried out at certain hours.
